One basic idea underlies the concept of this choreography: 'There is only one certainty in life. Feeling solid ground beneath one's feet each time a step is taken. Everything else is a matter of chance, unexpected encounters and events.'

Reviews:

Solid Ground is a prime example of the sensitive style and well considered content which typify the works of Danny Rosseel. This ballet features eight women and three men searching for other certainties besides the solid ground which they feel underfoot. In short, a modern, abstract ballet with substance.

A square, lighted path is the catwalk of life, guiding a constant stream of dancers. Stepping out of the path creates wonderful encounters, a mix of unstable relationships flows into fluent Pas de Deux, intimate duets and passionate trios.

The light 'dresses on leggings' in grey-green, blue and black were a superb underlining of the flowing moves and the lightbeams were sculpting the environment. Dancers in search of pure movement and minimalism ... a pearl.
